Welcome to the home page of the Association for Psychosocial Studies 2018 Conference. The Conference will run from the 5th to the 7th April 2018, in the coastal resort of Bournemouth in Southern England. This is the third APS Conference, hosted by Bournemouth University, following two very successful ones at the University of Central Lancashire in 2013 and the University of the West of England in 2015. The theme for this one is ‘Psychosocial Reflections on a Half Century of Cultural Revolution’, and we expect the conference to offer a rich array of scholarly studies of how much in today’s world can be understood in terms of the transformations in culture and politics initiated in the late 1960s, and the trajectories since then of the values and movements associated with that period. Contributions will come from all generational perspectives and reflect the diversity of theoretical influences which have been associated with psychosocial studies.

Due to popular demand we have also created an open stream for presentations on the theme of ‘Current and New Directions in Psychosocial Studies’.

Bournemouth is a very attractive seaside town with renowned beaches and a wide choice of hotels. It sits between two areas of extraordinarily beautiful countryside: the New Forest in Hampshire and the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The conference will be held on the University’s Talbot Campus, with its striking contemporary buildings and easy access to the town and the airport.
